MJBAS Policies

1. Editorial Policy

The Al-Mutawassit Journal for Basic and Applied Sciences (MJBAS) is committed to publishing high-quality, original research that advances knowledge in the basic and applied sciences. All submissions are subject to rigorous peer review. The Editorial Board makes decisions based solely on the scientific merit, relevance, and originality of the work, guaranteeing a fair and unbiased editorial process for all authors.

2. Open Access Policy

MJBAS is an Open Access journal. All articles published are freely and immediately available online to the global research community without subscription fees or registration barriers. All published articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, promoting the widest possible use and dissemination.

3. Peer Review Policy

MJBAS employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from one another. Manuscripts are first screened for scope and plagiarism. Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewer recommendations.

4. Copyright Policy

Authors retain the copyright to their published work. By submitting a manuscript to MJBAS, authors grant the publisher (Al-Mutawassit for Scientific Publishing) the right to publish the work and license it under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing broad use provided proper citation is given.

5. Authorship Policy

Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant intellectual contributions to the reported study, including contributions to conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, drafting the work, and final approval of the published version. All listed authors must agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

6. Author Self-Archiving Policy

MJBAS strongly supports authors' right to self-archive their work to ensure maximum dissemination and impact. Authors are permitted to deposit the Submitted Version (Pre-print), the Accepted Manuscript (Post-print), and the Published Version (Publisher's PDF) in an institutional repository, on their personal website, or on pre-print servers. In all cases, authors must provide a full bibliographic citation and a link to the final published article on the official MJBAS website.

7. Plagiarism Policy

MJBAS maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using the anti-plagiarism software Turnitin. Manuscripts that show an overall similarity index exceeding 20% will be automatically rejected. If plagiarism is detected at any stage, appropriate action will be taken, including potential retraction.

8. Conflict of Interest Policy

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial relationship that could be perceived as biasing their work. Reviewers and editors must also declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process if a conflict exists. Failure to declare a significant conflict of interest may result in rejection or retraction.

9. Data Sharing Policy

Authors are encouraged to make their research data openly available to enable reproducibility. Authors should deposit their datasets in a publicly available repository and provide a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript detailing where the data can be accessed, along with any necessary access links or unique identifiers (DOIs).

10. Publication Ethics and Malpractice

MJBAS adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This policy outlines the duties of Editors, Reviewers, and Authors to ensure integrity. The journal will promptly investigate any allegation of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, unethical research) and will follow COPE guidelines for correction, clarification, or retraction of articles as necessary.
